Elenova AI was founded by Jacob Garza and Dharmesh Shroff — two people whose careers, taken together, represent an unusually complete picture of how multifamily real estate and property management technology actually work. One built and operated the properties. The other engineered the software the industry runs on. Their partnership didn't start with Elenova. It started more than two decades ago.
Jacob founded Property Automation Software in the early 2000s — the top-selling property management platform for small to mid-sized operators, serving 21,000 customers across nine countries. Dharmesh was on that team. He saw firsthand how Jacob built not just software, but a company rooted in solving real operational problems. When Jacob sold the business in 2007, they went separate ways — but never lost touch.
Jacob went on to found REEP Equity and REEP Residential, growing a vertically integrated Texas multifamily firm to 6,070+ units and $770M+ in transactions.
Dharmesh rose through senior engineering leadership at Entrata, RealPage, and GeteCovered.io — spending years inside the platforms that operators dependedon every day. He understood their architecture. He also understood their limits.
When the opportunity came to combine what they each knew — operator insight and engineering depth, built on a foundation of genuine trust — the answer was Elenova AI. Not a better vendor. Something built from scratch, the way they both always believed it should be done.
